Welcome to Northeast Ohio FIT (a USA FIT program)! We are a training program for anyone who wants to train for and complete a fall marathon or half marathon. Our target event is the Akron Marathon/Half Marathon, but our members participate in a variety of fall running events. Even if you’ve never run a step before, training with our group will help you conquer mental and physical barriers you never thought possible.

Coaching services:

  • Evaluating running form, mechanics, and efficiency
  • Instruction on how to build a solid running base
  • Comprehensive training plans for any race distance
  • Strategies for achieving PR’s and qualifying for Boston
  • Tips and techniques for trail running
  • Incorporating core training and injury prevention
  • Guidance on fueling and hydration before, during, and after workouts
  • Access and training at a private Pilates studio upon request

 

Initial phone consultation is free. Coaching is done in-person, via e-communication or a combination of both.

 

Typically the first two in-person sessions are designed to establish goals, evaluate running form, mechanics and efficiency. Although every program will be unique to each runner’s goals and objectives, most programs consists of two initial in-person sessions followed up by weekly e-communication sessions. Addition in-person sessions can be scheduled as needed.

Vertical Runner Tri

 

VR Triathlon is a group of triathletes who train and sometimes race together. Meant to be an all inclusive group, there are no qualifications on participating other than enjoying multi-sport activities. We train in and around Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) and partner with other groups for indoor training as well as Vertical Runner for organized running related training. Learn more by joining this group on Facebook

Crooked River Trail Runners – Thursdays

The Crooked River Trail Runners meet every Thursday at 6:30pm at various locations in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The mission behind the group is to promote friendship and fitness while enjoying the beauty of nature.
